Make upgrading your home or business more affordable
Renewable energy grants can make upgrading your home or business more affordable than you might think. From solar panels and battery storage to heat pumps, and energy-efficient heating systems, there are a range of funding opportunities designed to help reduce upfront costs and improve long-term savings.
At DCR, we help you understand which grants may be available for your property, your circumstances, and your goals. With schemes changing regularly and eligibility varying from one project to another, finding the right support can be confusing. That’s where our team can help.

Warm Homes Plan
The government has announced its Warm Homes Plan, including low and zero-interest loans for green tech, and free energy-efficiency upgrades for low-income households.
The plan will provide direct funding support for low-income families struggling to pay their energy bills, who will receive free upgrade packages, depending on what technology and updates are most suitable for their homes.
Alongside that, all homeowners will be able to apply for new government-backed, low or zero-interest loans to install:
- Solar panels
- Heat pumps
- Storage batteries
The plan has three key pillars:
- Direct support for low-income families
- Government-backed, zero and low-interest loans for green tech
- New protections for renters.

Warm Homes Local Grant
Backed by Local Council
The Warm Homes Local Grant is a government initiative aimed at improving energy efficiency in low-income households across England.
Property Eligibility
To be eligible, the property must meet the following conditions:
- The property must be located in England.
- The property must be privately owned
- The property must have an EPC rating between D and G, indicating lower energy efficiency.
- All types of fuel are eligible, including homes on or off the gas grid.
What you can get
If you’re eligible and your local council has funding available, they will arrange a home survey to see how your home could be made more energy efficient. They might suggest improvements like installing air source heat pumps, smart controls or solar panels. Your local council will then organise and pay for any improvement work they’ve agreed with you.
